Knowledge of Language requirement- British citizenship

Post by beatachelmecka » Sun Mar 12, 2017 10:47 pm

Hi, I have Cambridge ESOL Entry Level Certificate in ESOL International (Entry 3) Preliminary English Test Level B1 dated in June 2010. Anyone can help me and advice if it is enough to support my application for British Citizenship, please? According to Home Office websitehttps://www.gov.uk/english-langu ... ifications
'If your qualification has run out
Some recognised test qualifications only last for 2 years. You can still use a B1 level qualification that you took more than 2 years ago in 2 situations.

Applying for citizenship

You can use a B1 level qualification that’s run out if you’re applying for citizenship and it was accepted when you settled in the UK.

It doesn’t matter if the B1 level test you took isn’t on the current list of recognised tests. You don’t need to take another test.'
Please, please if anyone used similar certificate or I will need take a new test from the list.
Thank you

I understand it is now the SELT (Secure English Language Test) B1 Level Certificate that has to be produced for BC application. I assume you are on EEA route which doesn't require English for PR, so you wont have used the test from 2010 for settlement purposes. ESOL was replaced by SELT.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
Please do not send me private messages asking for advice.

Thank you for your reply. i am still so confused. :( Do I have to take a new test from the list? I am on EEA route and have already PR and LIfe in the Uk test. I have hope do not take another test because is so so far from my place where I live :(

ESOL tests are no longer accepted for Citizenship applications. You will need to do a new SELT test.
