Tier 2 Main Applicant and Dependent Extension Application

Hi All,

Mine and my wife Tier 2 General Visa is going to expire in mid of April 2017. I am going to apply for the Tier 2 extension within this week but I have following queries, if someone can guide please.

1- Is there only one application form for both Main and dependent application?
2- I believe I can apply within 3 months before the visa expiry dates.
3- I believe there is no maintenance requirement for extension application. Please clarify (though i have requested the maintenance letter from my employer for both of us).
3- When to pay the Health surcharge (same time when applying fro visa)? I believe there is separate route for paying the fee and health surcharge.
4- Documents required : COS, Passports, Photos, BRP, employer maintenance letter anything else?? do i need to submit payslips, employer letter and bank statement?

Please advise.

1. separate forms for each person.
2. No. you can apply whenever. but have to apply before your current leave expires. applying around 3 month before is ok and good time to apply
3. No maintenance required.
4. these are enough. also once u complete the form, u will get a checklist of the docs that u need to send

I was just filling the online application form and it does give you an option of adding another applicant (dependent). I am going to add my wife as dependent on same app form. Is this a right way of doing it or i am doing something wrong?

I am in the same boat and looking to file the application for tier 2 extension for me and my wife. While I see an option to add another member to the application, the instructions are asking for a separate application from my wife. Can you let us know what you ended up doing ? Did you submit two different applications ?

Hi All,

Can someone help me with this question ? We tried filling a new form for my wife but it looks exactly the same as the tier 2 main applicant form. I am confused as to why my wife needs to file another form when I added her as my dependent and provided all the necessary details.

Tier 2 Extension main application is clearly asking dependent details and documents for submission.
Do we really need to submit a separate application for dependent ?
