Switch from UK Tier 2 General to Dependant visa in UK

Post by hemu4ucbe » Tue Mar 14, 2017 4:05 pm

Hi,
My wife is currently on Tier 2 General sponsored by her employer.
I am a UK citizen with British Passport. Can my wife switch from Tier 2 General to Dependant visa within UK ?

Thanks,
Hem

Yes.
Note: I obtained BC in 2015. We were married in 2010. I held Indian Citizenship at that time.

She could have switched to FLR(M) after you were granted ILR. However, switching would also reset her 5-year qualifying period for ILR.

Thanks Vinny for your response.
Could you please clarify if we can switch from Tier 2 General to FLR(M) within UK or does she need to go back to India and reapply ?

She may switch to FLR(M) from inside the UK, if she satisfies all the requirements.

Can she not qualify for ILR under Tier 2 (General) sooner?

Vinny,
Appreciate your response. Thanks a lot.
I am trying to find out if she will be eligible for ILR via another post since last month, but had no response yet. Do you have a minute to look at the below post and share your valuable thoughts on her ILR eligibility? it will be of great help to us.
