Hi,
my wife has a strange experience with the passport office while applying for her first UK passport after naturalisation. The timeline:
- Had her citicenship ceremony on 02 February 2017 (Straight forward application, done in 6 weeks, Latvian national)
- Had her passport interview on the 21 February - she was running late, didnt find the office and was a bit "hectic", but was there in time and answered the questions. Couldnt remember a postcode from 3 years ago, but that was it...
- On 27 February she received her passport and naturalization certificate back
- On 02 March she got a letter asking for more documentation: the decree absolute form her previous marriage and our marriage certificate to clarify name changes - we stupidly sent only copies. She responded per recorded delivery the same day.
- On 07 March she received a letter asking for the originals - She responded per recorded delivery the same day.
- Today (15 March) she received another letter, asking her to send her original Latvian passport. This is the same passport she submitted with the original passport application and which was sent back on the 27 February! She is at the moment on the way to the post office to send it via recorded delivery!
Is this normal? Anyone any idea what could be happening?
Cheers
