Tier 2 (General)

Post by lyricage » Sat Mar 18, 2017 7:17 pm

Hi,

As I understand, switching from TIer 2 ICT long term staff (obtained after April 2011) to Tier 2 General with a new sponsor, is NOT possible below a certain salary threshold.

My question is : I am currently on a Tier 2 ICT long term staff visa which is obtained in Nov 2013 and expiring in Nov 2018. However, my current position is made redundant with last date being March 31 2017. Is it possible to apply for a new Tier 2 General Visa after returning to India with a new employer? Is there a minimum salary requirement for this- if so, how much? will cooling-off be needed as technically I am not ''switching''?

Apologies if this has been answered before but there seems to be a fair bit of confusion.

Thanks,
Rajat

Cooling off period is applicable unless your salary will be more than £155,300 at present, or greater than £120,000 after April 6th I believe.

Thanks. FUQ: Is the 120K threshold total compensation including bonuses? Does Contractor work qualify in case the pro-rated annual salary is greater than the threshold?

Contractor work qualify
What exactly do you mean by this? Contracting is NOT permitted on Tier 2 General.

Got it. And is the 120k amount base salary or total compensation inclusive of bonus amount that is fixed such as car allowance etc?

A guaranteed bonus can probably be included as the total package and your employment contract would have to state this. A bonus is not a car allowance.

There has been some announcement from HO regarding reduction of salary threshold on March 17. Do you know if the cooling-off is now waived off for a salary greater than 120k?

Any thoughts on this? The recent announcement states reduction in salary threshold to 120K but dos not directly talk about cooling off period.
