Date you were given ILR in UK

Hi, I am completing from AN - can anybody advise if the date a person is given ILR for the purpose of answering question 1.3 of the form is the date that is on the Biometric resident permit/card - where it states Place and date of issue on the card?

It can be few days before the card is printed, better to use the date which is on your BRP.

Are you saying that the date of issue on the pink coloured BRP is sufficient even if it is not the actual date ILR was granted - sorry i just wanted to double check

if the actual date is a few days before the card was printed how would I find out the date ILR was actually granted, unfortunately i do not have any letters from the Home office referring to it?

You will be fine using the date which is printed on BRP, the approval letter unfortunately does not normally have any date printed on it & it also states that the letter does not convey the grant or refusal of ILR. Just go with the date printed on BRP.

Speaking of which, this reminds me of a friend who got her ILR in January. She went for a same day service though. She received 2 letters, one is generic that is not addressed to her, has no date, and states that application was approved and that the letter does not convey grant of ILR.
The second letter is addressed to her, but only mentions that documents are being returned and a BRP is on the way.

Was this normal in her case or did they miss something in these letters?
Are letters given at premium appointments different than post? i.e. the approval letter did not have her name or details or date. Just generic information about ILR.

Sorry If I could ask two further questions about completing form AN/documents

1. Proving evidence of identity, if an old passport was used as proof of identity when taking the Knowledge of Life in the UK test and I now have a new passport - is the new passport sufficient? or do I need to send the old passport?

2. Applications made on the basis of residence in the United Kingdom - I have been resident for over 3 years and married to a British citizen - so do I only need to send a copy of my passport which will have the stamps in it for when I left/entered the UK in it? Or do I need to have my bank statements, utility bills, medical letters and letters from government departments as well, I do not have any employer correspondence as I have not been in employment.

Passport is sufficient.

You need to send all passports to prove residence, so if your old passport covers a period of the 3 years, you must send it.

If applying by post yourself, ie NOT through NCS, you must send your original passports as copies won't be accepted. You don't need any of the other list of documents you have listed.
