Uk settlement visa waiting for 6 months

Hi, I'm new here please help me i have applied for uk spouse visa on 13th of October 2016 its been 23 weeks of waiting nothing heard from HO, they sent me back my original documents on 27th October and my husband as well as employer got enquiry call on 3rd November and it went very well but after that i got email on 30th December that my case isn't straight forward, since then i keep sending them enquiry email after every 20 days and getting same standard replys that yet to be assessed by ECO,
My question is that should i go with escalation or not or any kind suggestion please. I have waited so long and still actually waiting
Previously i have been refused because of employment letter was a bit incomplete

The spouse settlement visa application is on hold at the moment.

Did they explain to you why your case isn't straight forward? Are they suspicious? Some applicants have to wait for 6 months for some reason.
