Citizenship Of Child Born To ILR Parent

Post by nkinawi1024 » Tue Mar 21, 2017 4:04 pm

This is just a hypothetical question, as my husband & I are researching the best time to start our family.

My husband currently has ILR while I am still on a Tier 2 Dependent visa.

If we were to have a baby while my husband was still on ILR, would the baby be considered a British citizen or would we have to apply for a visa for the baby as well?

Thanks!

The baby would only be British automatically if born in the UK.

If baby is born abroad, baby will need a visa in line with your visa and qualify for ILR with you.
