Too late. A passport application will only be accepted through the JCAP service at the same time you are submitting your BC application with the NCS.Aliaban wrote:Hello All,
I will be grateful if anyone could help. My application for citizenship has been approved and I did it through NCS (without the passport application). I am yet to book the naturalisation ceremony. I will be travelling in 4 weeks and I think the passport will not be ready for when I travel.
I wonder if I can go back to NCS and ask if they will accept my passport application so I do not have to submit my current passport (which will be needed for my travel). Has anyone heard of such a thing? Will NCS accept the passport application or is it only done jointly with the citizenship application?
Thank you
D

Yes, I do CR001, thanks for the reminder. I'm torn between either going for the ceremony and applying for the passport in time for a planned holiday in 4 weeks or applying for a Schengen visa for the upcoming trip. The passport application, I understand can take up to 6 weeks but from what I see on this forum, the average is about 3 weeks.

Suggest postpone your ceremony then. Unlikely you will get your passport in time, it is the start of peak season at HMPO.
