Need help; Got a contract need sponsorer.

Post by srinivasradaram » Sat Mar 11, 2017 5:23 am

Hi Experts,

I was in the UK from April 2011 till March 2016 on Tier 2 ICT. I had to come back in April 2016 due to visa rules and am going to complete my 'cooling off' period in first week of April. I am now trying to get back to UK on Tier 2 General.

The previous company/client that used to work for when I was in the UK is ready to offer me a job (or a contract) however they want me to sort out sponsor myself. So any help or pointers in this regards would be great.

Apologies if I were not to ask.

-Srini.

You cannot contract on tier 2 general. It is illegal and not permitted. You are only allowed to work for your sponsor directly and it must be an HO approved sponsor on the sponsor list.

I already told you that you need an approved sponsor in your other topic.

Hi CR001,

Thanks again for your reply. Maybe I did not put my question/query properly. I dont know how it works then. I would like to know if a company that sponsors anyone, can't they send their employees to a contract job? If my understanding is correct that is how most of the 'licensed' companies work. Am I right?

You can have a case where there is a company ready to give you job and not willing to take the risk of sponsoring someone from outside so they approach their preferred vendors who would have employees ready with them and of them there can be Tier 2 General guys as well. I dont know what I am missing here? The vendor has to be from an HO approved sponsor on the sponsor list.

Regards,
Srini.

You are not allowed to contract on Tier 2 General. You MUST work for your sponsor only and be on their payroll. You cannot take a job with a company who is not your sponsor. There is no longer a visa that allows this (Tier 1 General was the previous visa).

A sponsor, accounting firm for example, can send their employees out at financial year end for example, but the employee is NOT permitting to contract with a third party and earn income form the third party.

You have stated a company is offering you a contract, but you must find a sponsor. This is not permitted. What you are describing sounds like an umbrella company, which is illegal on Tier 2 General.

Have you read this topic properly?? He cannot do what he is thinking of doing, so unlikely he will find a sponsor.

Tier 2 General; few questions...

Post by srinivasradaram » Mon Mar 27, 2017 8:33 pm

Hi Experts,

Hope you all are good and had a great weekend. Apologies to disturb you.

I have below questions for which I would need your help.

1. I heard that UK govt is making Tier 2 General more strict and difficult, is it true?

2. What is the processing time for a Tier 2 General application from India?

3. Are Tier 2 General rules going to change from April 1st on wards? If yes what are they going to be?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks.

You need to meet the salary for the SOC and gain the points to qualify.
