Should I do child applications separate to my ILR?

Post by grreg » Tue Mar 28, 2017 9:16 pm

I am currently on a Tier 1 Entrepreneur visa and will be eligible for ILR in Dec-2018.
The Entrepreneur visa is valid until Sep-2019 (another 10 months after eligible for ILR).
I have 3 dependants. My wife, and 2 children one who was born in the UK.
Should I apply for ILR for all for us together?
I was considering just applying for myself in Dec-2018 and then if I am successful submitting a subsequent ILR application for my wife and 1 child. I believe the child born in the UK doe snot need to complete an ILR application and can just jump straight to Uk citizenship when my ILR is approved.

Would that plan work or will the HO question why I am applying for ILR without my dependants?

Any thoughts appreciated.

Yes to all your questions. No issue with HO as long as dependents still have valid visa.

Thanks for the answer.
The HO website says an ILR application will typically be completed in 6 months.
Is it possible to attend a PEO and make it faster when moving from a Tier 1 Entrepreneur visa?

Yes you can book PEO appointment. You have to pay £500 in adition to standard ILR fee.
