Schengen visa help - travelling to belgium. Uk spouse visa

Post by maxilopez1987 » Mon Apr 03, 2017 7:54 pm

Hi,
Do I need to obtain a schengen visa / how do I obtain one

I am married to a british citizen and I currently hold a uk spouse visa, i am from Turkey. We have a 6 month old daughter who is also a british citizen and holds a british passport.

I am planning to visit my friend and her husband in belgium at the end of the month. I will be staying with them and it is only for 4 nights before returning back to the uk.

Me and my daughter are travelling alone as my husband cannot get the time off work.

Do I need to obtain a visa as I have read that you do not need one if your are related to an eu citizen. However I am not travelling with my husband but I am travelling with my daughter who is a british citizen. I also read that I can apply for a visa but I will not have to pay the fee due to the above, how do I do that?

or am I best just playing it safe and applying for the visa?

Thank you in advance for your help, if you have any questions then please let me know.

Thank you
