Excess absences in 12 month QP

Post by OTKTO » Mon Apr 03, 2017 9:01 pm

Hello

I am hoping I can get some advice.

I am looking to apply for citizenship as I am married to a British Citizen and have been for almost 10 years. Recently my husbands work has moved us abroad and though I am under the 270 QP for 3 years, I am at 220 days over the last 12 months.

I still have our house in the UK and work for a UK business, but I wanted to know, what is the best evidence to prove this as an exceptional circumstance for being away for so long?

Any advice is greatly appreciated here.

You are required to be resident in the UK to apply. As the spouse of BC, you could arrange your ceremony abroad though.

Unlikely that the level of absence you have in the final 12 months will be overlooked, particularly due to you NOT living in the UK.
