Withdraw/Transfer Pension Back to Home Country

Post by dawndetector » Tue Apr 11, 2017 8:17 am

Hi,

Has anyone ever withdrawn your pension before reaching the retirement age or get them transferred back to your home country? I guess this would apply to those who have left the UK after the expiry of your Tier 2 Visa.

Thanks in advance.

You cannot withdraw your pension. You only have two options :

1. Leave it where it is and when you reach retirement age, it starts paying out to you wherever you are.

2. Set up a pension wherever you are going or through your employer, and transfer it to the new pension.

Thanks for your response:

[DD] Will it be ok to leave it here till my retirement age as I will no longer in the UK, will it become unclaimed monies?

2. Set up a pension wherever you are going or through your employer, and transfer it to the new pension.
[DD] In this case do you mean pension with QROPS so it can be transferred to oversea with certain fees/taxes?

Suggest look at your policy documents or contact your pension company.
