Post by azuk8309 » Tue Apr 11, 2017 10:44 am

Hello all,

I just want to ask how do i calculate 10 Years long residency, i arrived in United kingdom in 2004 but due to some unfortunate events my clock was reset in 2009 and i was granted a visa on 5th of October 2009, now i have leave to remain till 4th October 2019, during those 10 years i have a gap of 17 days in 2014 due and 10 days in 2017, do i qualify with these gaps, and also i am one day short of 10 years.

Please can someone experienced answer me, i will really appreciate it.

Hi,

You should be ok as one becomes eligible for 10 years ILR within 28 days of completing 10 years. You do not need to spend 10 years exactly. You can apply for ILR within 28 days of 5th Oct 2019.

You are ok with your absences so far. Make sure within the next two and a half year your do not have any absences more than 180 days outside UK and total absences in 10 years do not exceed 540 days.

Also, remember to pass LIUK test and to check your English Language eligibility for ILR.

Thanks,
Hassan

Life in UK Test

Post by azuk8309 » Wed Apr 12, 2017 11:08 am

Dear All,

I came into UK in 2004 and applied for ILR in 2014, for that purpose i did pass my Life in UK test, but unfortunately Home Office did not grant me ILR as they said my clock was rest in 2009 due to a gap in my lawful residence, i have a valid leave to remain as a spose of British Citizen till 2019, my question is when i apply for ILR in 2019, will i have to pass Life in UK test again or my old test will be still valid.

Regards
Muhammad Ai

Old test remains valid. They do not expire.

Please keep all your ILR questions in a single topic (this one).
