No, she only collects the card with the letter she has once she has arrived in the UK.

No, not to collect her BRP but she should bring it as they could ask for it when she lands at the airport.

aarrgh why the FRACK can't they write letters in simple laymans terms.

right the letter that came with the wifes stamped passport states the following:

what you must do when you arrive in the uk

you must collect your BRP within 10 days of arriving in the uk from the following post office branch.

post office address.......

Your BRP will be available for collection from April 13th 2017.

when you visit please bring you passort and this letter.

if you do not collect your BRP within 10 days of arrival in the uk you may be subject to a financial penalty or a reduction or cancellation of your leave.

the highlighted sections are of concern to me as it's confusing me. My wife arrives on the 29th. but that available for collection date of the 13th is freaking me out. They state to collect it within 10 days of arriving in the uk but how do they know when my wife arrives ?

From what date do we have 10 days to collect the BRP :?:

She will get an entry stamp in her passport which starts the 10 days countdown, the PO will check this stamp.

It has been a very long battle and hopefully she settles in nicely. Remember to think about the applications that need to be done in the future and get her involved in her wider community etc, build contacts (referees for BC in future) and don't forget to put some utilities etc in joint names or her name for the proof of cohab at extension time.

Another email from the office donkeys

Good Morning

Further to your application decision letter, I am writing to inform you that there has been a delay in producing your permit due to a technical issue which will affect the collection of your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP).

Your BRP has been produced on 13 April 2017 and will be available for collection on 26 April 2017
:
The BRP must be collected from the collection point on your decision letter.

When you visit the collection point to obtain your BRP you must bring your passport / travel document containing your Visa. Please also bring this letter as it will help locate your BRP quickly.

For any further enquiries on this matter, please contact the BRP Collection Team at https://www.gov.uk/biometric-residence-permits/collect.

We apologise for the delay and any inconvenience caused.

Regards,
Dawn
