ILR 2009- English Qual for BC ?

Post by 63Rayancha » Thu Apr 20, 2017 10:58 am

Hi Experts,

I have been referred to this board by few of my friends. I have got a question about English qualification for BC. I have got my ILR in April 2009 , to attain this ILR I wrote LIUK but there is no English Language requirement at that time. Now I am planning to apply for BC and thought to know whether I am exempt from English Qual? Please suggest...

Thanks,
LS

No you are not exempt from the English requirement. You will need to do the B1 test at an HO approved test provider OR use a UK degree OR get ELA from NARIC if you have a foreign degee OR are from an exempt country on HO's list.

Thanks CR001,

I have got Masters from India so I will get ELA from NARIC. Can you kindly share any links where I can start this procedure. I have found this , Is this the right link? https://www.naric.org.uk/visas%20and%20 ... ister.aspx

Correct yes. It costs the same as the English test and the results for English test will be available sooner.

Hi CR001,

Just a quick question about the option I need to choose to prove my English quals for BC. In this link https://www.naric.org.uk/naric/individuals/ its asking for the “statement of Comparability “& “English Language assessment”. I am believing that I need to choose for English language assessment for the Masters I have already got, am I right? Sorry am bit naive with Immigration stuff so just want to make sure that I am doing it correctly.

Thanks,
LS
