ILR: Will UKBA know how long a person been away from UK?

Post by johnkk88 » Sat Apr 22, 2017 5:01 pm

Hi all,

Will UKBA know how long a person has been away from the UK? Do they keep all the exit and entry records through the immigration?

Thanks.

Yes they do and of course your passport tells a travel story too.

What is the reason/purpose of your question?

From personal experinces I highly doubt they have detailed travel dates as there is no PP control upon leaving only entering. My guess is they rely on the list you furnish with application. If they have doubts they can look deeper.

I asked for SAR thinking it will have landing cards and they only had a few out of ~100 trips (when IO took detailed notes
g. didnt have my BRP)

I for example now have registered travel so I don't get stamped upon entry (and no landing cards) and a fewe times connected via DUB which is CTA so again incomplete travel info.

I did not keep perfect travel records (I didn't know it mattered till preparing for ILR) and concerned I may have missed a trip I declared it on cover letter including all the sources I used for compiling the list (frequent flyer records, eticket receipts). I do not want to even risk 'deception' if they find a trip I missed (though it would be a few days max and not affect ILR timelines)

They are reintroducing exit checks.

So one should be able to get exit/entry SAR (I tried and wasn't successful). Maybe HO is not the source but UK border (or whatever it is called)

Ur passport entry exit stamps tells the whole story of ur previous travelling.....it doesnt matter whether u have 100 landing cards or 1000....they have all the records....but if one try to escape he/she will be lucky to get away with it but one shudnt try to play around with UKVI.....be wise and disclose all true information...

I agree that u should not play with UKVI but 1. Passport does not tell all the story I have 4-5 stamps that cannot figure out whay it says. Also in last year I have registered traveller so no stamps

2. UKVI does not have good record of all trips and per vinny only recently tried to record exits from UK
