Currently appealing uk ban

Post by Jayboy808 » Sat Apr 22, 2017 5:52 pm

I have recently been barred entry to the uk for 10 yrs because of a mistake on my visa application and being misinformed about the uk immigration laws when my wife brought me over from the R.O.I. I'm currently appealing the decision with a legal team in London. I am a canadian who married a British citizen and received Irish residency and pps card. We were doing the surinder singh route .My wife deserted our marriage shortly after arriving to the uk and I was left in a huge mess. There has been no final divorce and proceedings haven't started.
I have very good friends in Co. Kerry who have offered me a place to stay. I was wondering if I flew back over to kerry from canada ( where I am currently at) if they would let me into ireland even though I have a bar from the uk. It is not and never will be my intention of trying to go to the uk since I'm currently in the appeals process and wouldn't want to jeopardise my chances. I would just like to be able to be with friends for a brief time for support. My residence card is valid till 2020 and my pps until 2022.

Your residence card for Ireland is irrelevant and likely no longer valid if your wife is not in Ireland. Your status in Ireland is WHOLLY dependent on your sponsoring spouse being in the state and exercising treaty rights.

You should be aware that Republic of Ireland and the UK share immigration information.

removing 10 yr bans?

Post by Jayboy808 » Mon Jun 05, 2017 8:49 pm

I was recently given a refusal of entry clearance with a ten year ban. I got the ban because I answered a question about previous visas wrong. my ex and I were refused a family pass from Ireland to the uk and I didn't make the correlation that a family pass was a visa. big mistake. now they've said it was deception. my other point of refusal was because my ex had brought me into the uk and left me after 2 months so I couldn't apply for a spouse visa. upon arriving I was given a NI number and told I could work by the clerk..I was also given a certificate from the city council to do my job..however in the refusal point they said I was in breach of uk immigration law for working and entering the uk from the common travel area.
I've hired a law firm to help me. I was given the right to appeal but my solicitor recommended I try to reapply before appeal. they are making representations for me and submitting a fresh application...does anyone know if anyone has had success with having these bans removed? I know it's a long shot but was just inquiring..
