Advice on family UK family visit visa

Post by Gillan CA » Sat Apr 22, 2017 8:52 pm

I am a Kenyan citizen and married to a UK citizen.I recently applied for a family visa to visit my husband. The online application provided a standard visa that had several type of visa,so I selected family visa.I provided all documents including financial statements from my husband and myself. Also in the application we notified UK visa office that am with child.Meaning I am pregnant
After two weeks the application was denied. The reasons given was that I did not include the name of the child in the application form.Another reason was that the EO was not sure that I would come back after the two years visa. Also the reverent from my husband church had supporting letter and he said I was valuable to community so the EO indicated that I maybe working when I get there. Finally another reason was that they were not sure how I would financially support myself even after my husband informed them that I was under his total financial support.
The UK Visa did not allow me right to appeal or administrative review. This has left us both confused by decisions made.Should we first register our marriage certificate at UK EMBASSY in Kenya before we do any visa application?
Please advice

If you applied for a visitor visa, what evidence did you submit to prove your social and financial/economic ties to your home country?

Have you visited the UK before?

What is the exact wording of the refusal, taking out personal details?

Did you state in the form 'I am with child' or did you state 'I am pregnant'?

Also, a two year visitor visa DOES NOT allow you to 'live' in the UK for 2 years and it also does not allow you to change your visa to any other visa category. You also would not have free NHS access and use as a visitor.

Very difficult these days to get a visitor visa as a spouse of a British Citizen as the ECO will likely not be convinced that you will leave the UK and if granted a visa, try and make other applications to stay instead of leaving.

Why not apply for a spouse visa in the normal way?
