Citizenship for kids born here

Post by Iqbal01 » Sun Apr 23, 2017 2:26 pm

Hi,
Me and my family have french passports.i have been living in uk for the last 23 years and all my kids were born here.I have just got my PR this week which they have given me from 2010 so now i have been told that i can apply for citizenship straight away.I have been told that I have to apply for the citizenship for the whole family now which wil cost me around 7k.
My kids were born in following years
Eldest march 2000
Second nov 2005
Third oct 2007
My wife is applying for PR on basis of her french passport also after which we wil apply for citizenship for family

My question is do i have to apply for citizenship for whole family or just me and my wife coz i hv heard kids get passports straightaway but not sure about anything
Thanks
Could u please tell me what is the best route to go for

Your kids can't apply for a British passport because they are not yet British. You have to register them as British on form MN1 under section 1(3) of the nationality act.

Who is this question for though? According to your previous posts, you applied for ILR from Tier 1 General :?:

And been asking about citizenship since 2015 :?:

If the question was for your colleague, then why did you misrepresent the post by using the words "Me", "my family" and "I", etc?

It's very confusing.

If your colleague was exercising treating rights at the time of elder child's birth in March 2000, then child is automatically British.

If your colleague automatically acquired PR prior to child's birth, then child is automatically British.
