Is this information correct?

"The Resident Labour Market Test - and when companies hire international students who are on a Tier 4 visa, they are exempt from carrying out this test.

And about the extra cost - this is legally called a ‘Skills Surcharge’ and while hiring int’l students, companies are exempt from this too."

Is this information correct? I did not find this clearly in the gov.uk or I didnt understand it

I believe no. This is only if u are changing from tier 4 to tier 2, inside the country..
If you apply for tier 2 from home country, you are not switching.. u are applying for a new leave.

Thanks, I do have another question. While I was in the UK under tier 4, I got 3 job offers from the licensed companies who can hire tier 4 but upon hearing my status, they refused to go any further. If they are exempted from surcharge and labour market assessments and being registered as tier 2 sponsors, why would they refuse me?

No one on the forum can answer that. Did you ask them at that time why they rejected you?

No, because I thought the tier 4 students were subject to the labour market assessment
