Hi all, I was travelling in Italy when my wallet was stolen, along with my BRP and bank card.
My only form of identification is now my passport, and pictures of my National Identity Card and BRP.
I have filed a police report about the wallet, which includes the BRP. I will be in Milan for 1 more day, after which I will be going to Amsterdam for 4 days before my scheduled flight back to the UK.
I have reported my BRP as lost/stolen on the UKVI website, but yet to apply for a replacement BRP visa as I have read in this forum of many others who had to wait weeks to receive the replacement, while some only waited 2 days after giving their biometrics.
The thing is, my bank card was stolen as well, so I had to freeze the account. So it is impractical for me to stay overseas longer than I am supposed to with limited funds and not being able to access more funds using a bank card.
My passport is a Singaporean passport, which allows me to enter the UK normally without a visa.
I will be bringing the following with me on my flight:
- Passport
- Photo of national identity card
- Photo of BRP
- Police report of stolen wallet which includes BRP
Main issue is:
- Should I attempt to board my flight back to the UK? Pretty confident that I can get through check-in at Amsterdam as my passport does not require me to have a visa to enter the UK. Only concern is the UK border control, if they will allow me into the country at all. I have read online of some people giving necessary information and fingerprints to border control and they checked it with their database and allowed them entry, but I reported my BRP as stolen, thus I think they would have erased my biometric data from their database.
Any advice would be much appreciated!!!!
