Status check: Reason for escalation?

Post by TheDrkKngt » Sat Apr 29, 2017 9:33 pm

Hi everyone,

Was wondering if fellow board members could help me please?

It has been 43 'working days' since I applied for my Wife's settlement visa as she is coming over from Pakistan. I sent my wife's application through special royal mail delivery, and it was sent back to me using the same route, through required signature. When I received the application back, it clearly had the GWF reference written on it, with a template from the Home Office to which to say the application has been received. Clearly what gets sent to everyone, as it was not personalized.

I chased up the status of the application on the 21/4/2017 asking for an update, only to get a reply that there are no current updates?!!! To which followed up by the application might have been sent recently or the details I provided were incorrect ( To which they were not!)
So I decided to follow up that reply by asking for somebody to look into my stupid response, only for me to now get told that processing times for a settlement visa can take up to 24 weeks. Is the place being run by complete incompetent idiots?! I am getting worried now, because reply's like that aren't what I should expect for somebody that is expecting to bring his wife into the UK.

Has anybody experienced a similar situation to mine?

All you can do is wait and yes it cant take many weeks. Your expectations to have a speedy decision for your wife to join is irrelevant to their process of deciding the 1000's of applications they receive.

But surely from a customers POV it would be advisable to at least give an honest service? The service is advertised as a 'Visa status check' but that isn't what is happening. Terrible service so far!!
