Sending additional documents - post application date

Post by taffet87 » Tue May 02, 2017 11:05 am

Hi

I want to know the precise rules and guidance around sending additional documents after you send the initial documents to Sheffield (in our case as applicant in Pakistan). Some past threads have said that it is definitely not a good idea and won't be accepted, whereas in some other cases people have succesfully sent additional documents and always suggest sending any late documents rather than not sending at all.

- If I didn't submit a sponsor letter, can I send one now = just because some people have said it helps the ECO understand things better?

- I did not have my p60 at the the time of the application date (9 April payment date, biometric date 12 April, documents sent 18 April - non priority). However, I have received my p60 this morning. Is this required to be sent? Should I send it with a photocopy and the GWF application reference number?

Many thanks

Also, I understand that in appeals etc new post decision evidence which relates to matters at the decision date is accepted by the ECM and Tribunals etc. What is interesting is that they look at the decision date as the cut-off point.

Does that mean it is always better to submit new evidence before a decision has been taken - so that even if the ECO ignores it - it becomes relevant for the ECM review / appeal?

Neither a letter or P60s is required. The form contains the information HO want to see plus evidence of your relationship. If you submitted payslips and bank statementstatements for 6 months, this is sufficient.

Thank you and just for my benefit, any guidance on what to do if a critical document e.g. bank statement has not been sent with the original application documents to Sheffield?

Regards

Babar

Why weren't the bank statements sent?

This is one of the most critical documents to send.

Apologies, I actually personally sent the bank statements. I didn't send a sponsor letter or a P60 (as it was not available at the time). I just wanted to understand what happens in such a scenario - so it is a bit of a hypothetical question. Thank you

They are NOT mandatory/critical documents or required. My previous post was clear on this point.
