List of supporting documents for spouse visa

Post by ss717 » Wed May 10, 2017 12:07 am

Hi All,

I too am new to this forum, and therefore unable to PM other users.

I have a couple of questions which I hope somebody can kindly address for me. This whole process is very stressful, and for a perfectionist like me can only lead to severe anxiety as I think I might be doing or interpreting something incorrectly. This process is expensive as everybody knows, so it's an added pressure.

I would be very grateful for any assistance anyone can kindly provide. Especially with Query 2.

1. SPONSORSHIP UNDERTAKING FORM (its equivalent basically)
I too would find the sponsorship template letter very useful, so if somebody could somehow get this to me, that would be really great. Until now I have been looking at the "Sponsorship Undertaking" form (SU07/12), even though I have read somewhere that it is not required, and in fact required for (and I'm sorry if I have got this completely wrong but...) for instance applicants from North Korea (!!).

2. EMPLOYMENT NEEDED IF FULL CASH SAVINGS SHOWN AS FINANCIAL REQUIREMENTS
I have been really confused on this aspect. Literally tried asking so many forums and emailing countless online immigration specialists. I even visited an immigration service office today and he was not sure.

My question is that if you satisfy the financial requirements with full cash savings of £62,500, do you still need to be employed? If you do, then is there a strict requirement to earn a certain level? Taking into consideration that (according to my understanding) the whole point of the cash savings is to negate the income from earnings/employment.

Thanks again :)

You should be posting in public anyway in order for any advice given to be checked and corrected if necessary. Most members don't like unsolicited PMs and if that is the sole purpose for which you have joined the forum, the function will be disabled permanently.

This form is NOT required for a spouse visa. The form is a requirement for adult dependent relatives, ie parents/grandparents.

Savings is sufficient, provided you have held them in an accessible account for a minimum of 6 months and have proof of where the funds come from if HO asks for this evidence.
