Ancestry to Permanent Residency

Post by jjr40 » Mon May 15, 2017 7:30 pm

Hi there,

My Ancestry Visa expires in August and I'm planning on applying for Permanent Residency, however I'm just a little worried about what is required regarding employment history and finances.

I struggled to find work in my first few months of living here, only managing to get a temping job 6 months into my first year, but then have been in full-time employment for the past 4 years. I have a good job and proof from them that I will be in employment with them for the next few years. How far back should one go with providing pay-slips/P60s?

As for finances, I thought that Ancestry Visa to Permanent Residency did not have to meet the £35, 000 requirement, however I've read people saying one needs to prove they have £3000 a month? I work in the Public Sector so earn far less than this. Again, as regards to bank statements, how far back should one provide them with?

Many thanks for reading and help.

Ancestry visa holders DO NOT have to meet this salary requirement. It is ONLY for Tier 2 General visa holders.
