Spouse Visa: Change Date of Planned Arrival in UK

Post by prolife » Sat May 20, 2017 11:24 am

I submitted spouse visa online application from outside UK on 4th April 2017, with date of planned arrival as 1st Oct 2017. Online form allowed to choose future date of upto 6 months, so I chose 1st Oct 2017.

If visa officer ignores my intended travel date, and visa starts from date of visa approval, Can I request to postpone the visa start date to 1st Oct? How do I make this request? I can't find any information on VFS website or British high commission website. Thanks

As far as I am aware, visas can only be post dated by 3 months. The form asking for date of travel is just part of the form nothing more.

Why did you apply so early for travel much later in the year?

The maximum deferral of 3 months is also my understanding .

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.
