Tier 2 ICT Dependent to Tier 2 General

Post by ftp_gsd » Sun May 21, 2017 5:30 pm

Hi All,

I have a tier 2 (ICT) partner dependent visa (2016). Wanted to know if I can apply for a change to Tier 2 (General) visa. I know it is not possible for the main applicant because of the 12 months cooling period but I could not find any topic for dependent and got some mixed inputs from friends.

It would be great if someone can confirm the rule of dependent?

- If it is possible to switch to Tier 2 (General) without cooling period
- If it is possible to apply for the switch from within UK or should go back to home country for the application

Thank you for your help!!

Cheers!!

I could not find any topic for dependent
Lots of topics covering this on the forum.
- If it is possible to switch to Tier 2 (General) without cooling period
There is NO cooling off period applicable to dependents applying for Tier 2 General.
- If it is possible to apply for the switch from within UK or should go back to home country for the application
Only from home country and your sponsor MUST have completed the full and proper RLMT process to prove you have not been 'pre-selected'.
