Back-dated benefits

Post by oba_sa84 » Tue May 23, 2017 6:56 pm

Dear Friends,

I would like to claim 3-month backdated job-seeker allowance. I am a British citizen and last three month, I was actively looking for a job in Ireland. I would like to know that can I claim 3 months backdated JSA once I reached the UK?
Furthermore, I heard that they changed JSA to universal credit. May I know what types of documents they are looking for a jobless person? Would they contact my landlord/agent if I for a housing benefit?

Best Regards,

How long have you been in Ireland?

Were you in Republic of Ireland?

Thank you for a reply. I came on the 20th of March and arrived yesterday. I met more than 7 recruiters and applied 50+ jobs in Ireland.

Where did you 'come on 20 March'?

20 March to now is not 3 month of looking for work in Ireland.

So contact Job Centre and see what they say or go to Citizens Advice.

Not all areas are doing Universal Credit yet.
