T5 YMS to T2 procedures?

Post by noname5658 » Tue May 23, 2017 7:27 pm

Hi guys, sorry if this has been answered before, would love to get a direct link to it if explained elsewhere, but otherwise:

What are the procedures of T5 YMS changing to T2, on my end?

I have found a company that may be able to apply to become a sponsor, what are the steps they will need to do to become a sponsor?

My partner also holds a T5 YMS, if I were to changed to a T2 visa, can she apply for another visa to stay with me in the UK? We are not married yet, but the option is available should it be needed.

I'm currently working as a Barista, could potentially become the Head Barista, Head Coffee Trainer, or even Cafe Management. Is the Barista title enough, or do I need to become one of the titles listed above?

Much appreciated guys.

None of the job titles you list will qualify for a Tier 2 General visa. Many EU citizens are in the UK and doing these jobs anyway.

What industry is your 'proposed sponsor'?

When does your YMS expire?

How long have you and your partner been together? Do you live together or are you just boyfriend/girlfriend?

You do realise that you cannot switch within the UK to Tier 2 General, you have to apply from home country and your sponsor or proposed sponsor has to complete RLMT to prove a) you are not pre-selected and b) that there is no British/EU or settled person to do the job.

Cafe / Food and Beverage

Near 2019, so I'm actually planning ahead of time.

We live together and are currently engaged, so marriage is an option if needed.

What are the options of me staying in UK after my YMS expires? I know T4 is an option but it will limit my hours to work + I don't wish to spend on education, unless its the only option.

I do hold the British National Overseas passport, if that makes any difference.

Thanks in advance.
