Documents for naturalisation

Post by loveman » Thu May 25, 2017 5:54 pm

Hello Dear Mods/Gurus and members

Long time since i posted sorry bit busy

I need your help urgently

i am applying for naturalisation next week, through NCS

Lot of friends gave their different views on documents that need to be submitted. i am confused what to submit now.

I am applying on basis of 5 years Tier1 and 1 year Indefinite

i will be submitting the basic documents.
Passports
* BRP and Indefinite leave to remain approval letter
* Application form AN
* Fees
* Letter from employer
* Life in the UK test certificate
* Master of Science degree from UK

apart from these do i need to submit any other documents. some friends told me P60, some one told me last 5 years P60. also i was self-employed from 2010 to 2014 some one says previous tax returns.

Can you please let me know what is required to be submitted. I don't want to complicate just want to keep it simple.

Many thanks

You don't need ILR approval letter if you have the BRP.

You don't need the employer letter.

Read the guide, it is clear what is required to be submitted.

You can also apply using the JCAP scheme at NCS, meaning you apply for citizenship and passport at the same time.

I applied through NCS as well. I submitted P60s for the last 6 years, passport, life in the uk test, language test, PR card (NCS took copies).

My friend is self-employed and he submitted tax returns instead of P60s. Hope this helps.

If we refer page 28-30 of Form_AN_02-17,

Section 3 mentions passports OR letters from employers etc. I assume for non-EU passport should suffice as passport will have stamps on it. I am still submitting employers' letter for simplicity and only "additional documents".

Section 7 mentions
"evidence of tax for self-employed applicants". I am a PAYE but I think for self-employed, its needed. isn't it so?
