Spouse Visa Renewal

Hi All,
My wife came to the uk on a spouse visa which is due to expiry within the year.

I am aware my wife has to pass the English B1 test for spouse visa renewal, however she would like to take the life in the uk test as she has been going to English classes which teach this.

Can my wife can the life in the uk test now or does she have to wait to take it when we apply for indefinite leave to remain?

She can do LIUK whenever she wishes to. It doesn't expire.
