Tier 2 Shortage Occupation Priority Service

Post by Ashb14 » Sat May 27, 2017 4:46 pm

Hi all, I have applied for tier 2 general (shortage occupation) on 3rd May using priority service . I am yet waiting for the decision. I got an email on 22nd May saying ' Unfortunately, the processing of your application is not been straightforward and we will be unable to decide your application within our customer service targets. We are continuing to work on your application and aim to make a decision as soon as possible' . Does any one encountered same issue? It's been more than 15 working days now and I am very anxious. I checked with my employer as well and they did not get any query from visa office. I have submitted all the necessary documents they have mentioned. Why is it not straightforward? Please help me regarding this.

It is a standard email, many applicants for various reasons get this email.

Dear CR001, Thanks for the quick reply.. What are the probable reasons for getting it delayed and to consider my application as not straightforward? Till how many more days it may take to get decision on my visa ? As I am switching from Tier 2 ICT dependent to Tier to general main applicant , I need to apply for dependent visa for my husband and kids once I get my visa. Please help with my query.

Another reason for my anxiety is my visa is going to expire this month end . AsI am not able to track status of my application , I feel very helpless. Tried to contact UKVI through mail and international help line, but was no use . It was same generic answer and they do not have any information regarding why it is getting delayed.

I received similar letter when I applied for change of employment 2 months ago. They requested for more information from my sponsor. My sponsor did not give me the details of the information but was told they had responded to them. My visa was still approved within 10 working days despite the letter.

I have heard of people with similar experience as mine while some did not get response from UKVI for months.

Can't you apply for your dependants while your application is still in progress, so that they will not overstay?
