2nd Referee for British Naturalization

Can my uncle, my father's friend, holder of British passport be my second referee? He knows me for more than 10 years.

There is a difference between "uncle" and "friend",

I'd like to also add onto Cr001's reply that any person related to you through adoption cannot be used either.

Are you using "uncle" for a family member or a honorary name for a friend of your family?
