Fiance Visa Taking A long Time

Post by gphipps94 » Sun Jun 04, 2017 10:54 pm

Hi there,

My Fiance is from the United States and we sent our fiance visa application through a lawyer on March 30th.
It still hasn't come through on 4th June.... She has to be the country at the latest 26th June so we can give notice to get married, as we get married on July 31st.

Is it normal for it to take this long, and is there any way we can check up on it?

Anyone able to give me advice or reassurance?

Thanks!

Although the information hasn't been updated from February, the link below will give you an indication of decision times for applications submitted in the US.

What does your lawyer advise?

Thanks!
He said he expects a decision within the next week or so based on the date Sheffield received the documents.
From your experience does it normally take this long for USA applicants. Also, do you know of any visa backlogs from other users?
Cheers

There are backlogs or delays for many applicants from various countries.

We haven't been notified of any delay to our application so I assume it doesn't apply to us?
