I have UK Ancestry leave to remain, expiring 23-01-2018. I lived in the UK July 2010 to June 2015. I believe that I am unable to renew the Ancestry visa again, having already done so once (23-01-2013). I am unable to apply for indefinite leave to remain since I have been out of the UK for two years now. I hope to return to the UK on my Ancestry visa shortly, but I cannot apply for a new UK Ancestry visa from the UK. At the end of January 2018 I would thus be unable to renew the Ancestry visa (as it can only be renewed once) and unable to apply for a new one (unless I do so from abroad) and unable to apply for indefinite leave to remain. Since I was almost five years in the UK before returning to New Zealand, is it possible to waive the shortfall of a month, and apply for indefinite leave to remain, or must I seek some other means of remaining in the UK after 23 January 2018.
