Dependent Visa extension - tier 2 and now on ILR

Post by yuvaraj » Thu Jun 08, 2017 7:00 pm

Hi Moderators
I was in the same situation as Shriakilesh was few months ago. I have a ILR (got it by 5 year tier 2 visa from July 2012 to June 2017). My wife and son joined me as Tier 2 dependent in Nov 2013 in UK and they have a tier 2 visa dependent visa until July 2018 (falling short by 3 months for ILR 5 year route). So I came across this post so please update what happened with the application.

Thanks in advance
Yuvi

I split your post to its own topic, it is considered rude to tag onto another members thread regardless of how similar the situation is.

Your dependents will have to apply for a PBS extension before they can apply for ILR.

Hi 001
Thanks you for the prompt reply and its faster than 007 bullets. Please let me have ur suggestion on the following.
Even though My wife has tier 2 dependent visa until July 2018. Theresa May had said that she will increase IHS surcharge to £600 per/year in her manifesto. Do you think its good to apply for extension now itself to save more £2400 (wife) + £2400 (Son) IHS charges next year. And Apply for ILR in NOv 2018.

Hi CR001
Sorry for replying in a year old post, I am in ILR (5 year tier 2 route) and my wife is in tier 2 dependent visa, which expires in July 2018 (Still not eligible for ILR). What visa should apply for extending her visa, PBS dependent extension or family visa ?.

Regards
Yuvaraj
