Financial requirement advice

Post by Moogle » Fri Jun 09, 2017 10:32 pm

Hello, my husband will be sponsoring me soon for a uk spouse visa. He meets the monthly financial requirement of £1550 for all the months except one, he has worked enough over time to put us above the financial requirement though. That month he missed 1 day of work because our cat became sick suddenly and had to be taken to the vets, he called in so we could take the cat. On the payslip it says that he missed the one day and how much money he missed (it would have been enough to meet the monthly financial requirement). If we write a letter explaining this would our visa still be accepted? We have the receipts for the vet bill for proof as well. Im very stressed and any advice would be super appreciated.

I dont think caseworker will excercise any discretion on the basis of your cat sickness even we never heard they excercised any sympathy on the basis of human sickness in meeting financial requirement. Try to caculate under non salaried as per below maybe it work out:

Total of 6 months wages/6×12

So it wont matter that it shows he would have met the financial requirement otherwise? Does the overtime during the other months not make up for it?

Provide the wages figure of the past 6 months. So that we calculate.

He made:
2090.25
1592.32
1462.64
1757.94
1640.12
1492.49

Lol we just got his last payslip and didn't know he would be short that month too.
If he was a non salaried worker would the income be calculated differently? Were not sure if he is or not, if he misses a day of work he doesn't get paid and he can get overtime if its available. Also, every third Monday morning he has to come for however many hours they decided and is paid time and a half as overtime.

You can use the non salaried category A route where average of 6 months wages is taken to calculate annual income:
2090.25
1592.32
1462.64
1757.94
1640.12
1492.49
=
10035.76/6×12= 20071.

Why you are worried with above figures. Go and spend some extra time with your cat as you meet financial requirement  :D

Unfortunately my kitty had to be put down the same day that we had to take him in.
We're going to apply for the visa next month and were super excited though!
Thank you for everything! Im glad we found this out in time, i was getting ready to have our baby in Canada rather than the uk, but now we can be together when she's born :D :D
Thanks again!
