We do not have a biometric number

Post by jugoya » Sun Jun 11, 2017 11:42 am

URGENT REPONSE REQUIRED PLEASE

Quite a bit of panic here. Our face to face renewal is tomorrow at 1220pm!

My Canadian wife is renewing her visa and we've done all the paperwork but noted we need a biometric number which she has no record of, having originally undertaken this in Canada.

There might have been a slip provided but my wife sent it to me and I just sent all the paperwork on. Then again, we might not have had a slip.

What should we do? The place she got it done will be closed prior to our doing this and the specific section in the application requests it (it begins with an R) section 9. Alternately if you got to section 9.12 it Asks about fingerprints and the date they were taken? She has no date of going to the centre just the payment receipt. Could we just tick that and work out the date she'd have had the fingerprints done (at same time as biometrics) or is this inaccurate/disengeuous?

A friend seems to think you only get this number if you applied in the U.K. We're not so sure, as why else would they ask?

Then I thought, "well they must have it on file for her to get here to begin with" but as our friend pointed out, "in that case why would they ask for it?"

We have no choice but to attend but does anyone have any advice on how to play this/how big a deal breaker?

Are they likely to be sympathetic/helpful? Or militant?

What visa exactly is she applying for?

If she has never had a BRP card, then you DO NOT have to enter the details and DO NOT have to 'get one' before your appointment.

9.12 - you need to state when she submitted her biometrics (fingerprints and photo) when she applied for her visa in Canada. She will definitely have done this and would not have been exempt. Stating month and year is fine.

Thanks for this.

The form is FLRM. My wife has been in U.K. from Canada two years.

This is the visa renewal.

If you don't have a number and go down the fingerprints root it then asks what "diplomatic post did you use to send?"

Not sure if you can shed any more light on this please?

It would be where she submitted her applications nd biometrics. So if it was Toronto VFS for example, then that is what you write.
