ILE visa for studying in the UK?

Hi,
I am an ILE (Indefinite Leave to Entry) visa holder and i am staying in Nepal. I am studying in a college which is affiliated to the University of Northampton. But, now i want to study in a different university in the UK.
When i tried to transfer and continue my studies in the University of Northampton itself, there was no problem with the visa and english. But now, i am applying to the other university through a consultancy agency and they are saying that i need to have an extra student visa and ILE visa will only allow to stay in the UK but will not allow me to study in the UK.
I do no think that an extra student visa is necessary. Is it?

You can study on ILE, your advisor is wrong.

I have a been away for around one year.
And do I need any specific English qualifications? Because I have scored around around 68% in my average marks in my high school education.

The consultancy agency was mistaken. CR001 is correct.

You should be okay, if you return to the UK within two years for the purpose of settlement. Subsequently, there is nothing stopping an ILE holder from studying too.
