Fiance Visa - Which forms?!

Post by lalaland1 » Wed Jan 18, 2017 10:31 pm

Hi,

Fiance is Moroccan, I'm British - will be applying for fiance visa and then spouse visa to remain in UK together.

Am I right in saying the Fiance visa consists of
- VAF4A
- Appendix 2
- all supporting evidence and documents?

And how does the process work? I fill it out with my lawyer in the UK, get it couriered to him in the UK, and he has a visa appointment?

Further, as the fiance visa is £1195 and the marriage visa is £1195 + £500 NHS, is this 1195 payable twice?

Lastly!...If granted, the Fiance visa lasts 6 months. If we get married within 2 months and apply for the spouse visa immediately, will this get granted and the fiance visa cancelled? IE do I need to wait the full 6 months before then applying for spouse visa?

Thank you in advance!

Correct

It is an online application. You don't need a lawyer, they have no influence on your application and will only make you poorer.
Further, as the fiance visa is £1195 and the marriage visa is £1195 + £500 NHS, is this 1195 payable twice?
Yes, the £1195 is paid twice. £500 immigration health surcharge payable with spouse visa not fiance visa.
Lastly!...If granted, the Fiance visa lasts 6 months. If we get married within 2 months and apply for the spouse visa immediately, will this get granted and the fiance visa cancelled? IE do I need to wait the full 6 months before then applying for spouse visa?
You can apply for the spouse visa as soon as you are married.

Fiance visa = £1195
FLR(M) - £811 (postal) or £1311 (in person application) + £500 NHS surcharge.

Return of Documents (Sheffield visa section) - Fiancé visa

Post by lalaland1 » Sat Jun 10, 2017 12:32 pm

Hi!

I'm the UK sponsor in a marriage visa application currently being decided at Sheffield Visa Section. The application was submitted in Morocco on 16 May and I then sent a pre-paid special delivery envelope with cover letter, signed for at the same address on 26 May (to enable them to return original documents when a decision was made).

Today, 10th June, I receive an email from Sheffield saying:

'We are in receipt of a Visa Application for the above named person. We have noted that no pre-paid return envelope has been provided with the documents submitted by the above named applicant or their sponsor. Please provide a suitable sized envelope with appropriate postage so we can return all the supporting documents to your Sponsors UK address.

When a decision has been made, we will be unable to despatch your documents until we receive a pre-paid envelope...etc etc'

What would you advise I do?
- nothing and wait for them to find it?
- send another?
- call the pre paid phone or email enquiry service?

I just don't want things to be delayed unduly.

Do you think this would also indicate a decision is about to be made?

Thanks in advance!

Do exactly as you've been asked and send another pre-paid envelope.

Applying for a UK Provisional License -on a fiance visa?

Post by lalaland1 » Thu Jun 15, 2017 9:20 pm

Hi all

I am a Moroccan national currently in the UK on a marriage visa. Once my UK fiancé and I marry in October we will then be submitting an in-country application for a spouse visa.

Between now and October, can I apply for a UK provisional driving license and potentially sit my UK theory test? Although the marriage visa is a a settlement of sorts, I am technically only currently on a visitor visa with the right to marry here.

I can't seem to find if I have permission to apply for a provisional license and sit the theory test. It'd just speed things up re. getting a full UK driving license once the spouse visa is granted. I have a full Moroccan driving license at present.

Many thanks in advance

Fiance Visa - what I can and can't do?

Post by lalaland1 » Thu Jun 15, 2017 9:26 pm

Hi all

When in the UK on a marriage/fiancé visa - in the period leading up to the marriage and before the grant of the spouse visa - can the non-EEA partner:

1) register with an NHS doctor/dentist
2) open a bank account
3) take a paid first aid course (or any private course, for example) to aid job prospects on the grant of his spouse visa
4) apply for a UK Provisional driving license?

Appreciate any advice
Cheers

You can't switch in-country from Marriage Visit Visa, you have to do it from home.

They can switch to FLR(M) if the partner is on a fiance visa (not a marriage visit visa).

Yes - on a fiance visa to then switch, in country, to a spouse visa via FLR (M).
