Immigration Platform?

Post by aoadegoke » Tue Jun 20, 2017 4:51 pm

Apologies if this has been in a discussion trend, but I have found it difficult to locate the trend, that is the need for a new topic. I stand to be corrected by directing me to the appropriate quarters.

Dear all,

I am planning to bring my niece (age 12) to join me as a dependant.

The family is going through a difficult time as my nephew (the last born, out of 3) is physically challenged and this is really affecting other 2 children.

I need advice as to what process and under what platform as a BC can I bring my Niece to join me.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

There isn't one. You cannot prove sole responsibility with official documents and the UKVI frown upon and don't allow the 'gifting' of children between siblings/family members.

What are your nationality/ies?

If you are a British citizen, you could move to another EEA member-state and try to get your niece to join you in that member-state under EU law. But...

a) There is no guarantee that that will work. EU law only requires the member-state to "facilitate" the entry of Extended Family Members (EFMs) into the EEA member-state.
b) You won't be able to bring them to the UK. The SS route does not apply to EFMs.
I am not a lawyer or immigration advisor. My statements/comments do not constitute legal advice. E&OE. Please do not PM me for advice.
