You must have been physically present in the UK

Post by mahasam » Tue Jun 20, 2017 9:43 pm

Hello,

A quick question - I have applied on 12th of April, tracking number NCS gave me confirmed that mail was received on 13h. 5 years ago I was in the UK during those dates. Email notification came on 28th, 5 years ago on 27th I was already on vacation. Does this mean I do not meet the residency requirements stated in the Guidance booklet?

Thank you

If you were physically present in the UK on 12th April 2012 then you should be fine.

Do I need to prove that I was physically present in the UK 5 years ago?

Yes, the proof is via the evidence of your residency, passport stamps in/out and/or employment details/P60, etc.

The date of application is when the application is submitted at the NCS.
If applying by post it's the day the HO receive it.
(Casa, not CR001)

My passport has more than 50 UK border stamps as I was travel quite a lot over the past 5 years. Will they be trying to find that particular stamp or do I need to find it in my passport and highlight somehow?

To clarify: I was in the country 5 years before I submit AN application via NCS. I just want to understand how they will be checking it so that I can assist and speed up the process.
