Indefinte stay to remain

Back in October of 2003 i got indefinite stay to remain and i recently renewed my American passport...how do i get my stamp and my istf paper from my old passport to my new...when i got mine in 03 i dealt with immigration ib Croydon but its shut now

Do you mean UKBA/Home Office? If yes, you are wrong, Croydon office is still there.

If you are not applying for British Citizenship, you will have to apply for transfer of conditions and a Biometric Residence Permit card, but mainly required if you are changing jobs or looking for jobs. If not, you can simply travel with both passports.
