Continuos residence for tier 2 holder in order to get ILR

Hi
I live and work in UK under tier2 visa. I understand thay to get ILR you should not be away from the UK more than a total of 180 days in 12 months period.
My question: is there a maximum number of days of continous absence from UK that should not be exceeded in this 12 minth period.. eg not more than continuous 90 days? Or is it just the total number of days which matters ? Regardless if they were continuous or interipted?
