Tier 2 general dependent visa, Which visa category to chose?

Post by kannank1612 » Sun Jun 25, 2017 1:10 pm

Hi all,

I am trying to apply online for the Tier 2 general dependent visa in the official UKBA website https://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/ .

I am dependent husband applying to join my wife who is already working as a staff nurse in UK.In my wifes application when i checked now its is showing
CATEGORY as TIER 2 (GENERAL SHORTAGE OCCUPATION) VISA
and
TYPE as GENERAL SHORTAGE OCCUPATION MIGRANT, UP TO 3 YEARS.

My doubt is when i start my application which set of options should i select.

Option 1
reason for visit - Work
visa type - TIER 2 (GENERAL SHORTAGE OCCUPATION) VISA
visa sub type - GENERAL SHORTAGE OCCUPATION PARTNER, UP TO 3 YEARS

Option 2
reason for visit - Work
visa type - TIER 2 (GENERAL) VISA
visa sub type - GENERAL PARTNER, UP TO 3 YEARS

can some one help me out to clear my doubt.

Thanks
kannan

If her visa says or is a shortage occupation up to three years then that is what you select (option 1)

In her BRP "Type of Permit" is TIER 2 (GENERAL) LEAVE TO ENTER.

So what did she apply for? Tier 2 Shortage occupation or normal Tier 2?

We can't know what it is. Ask her and maybe she can check and also see what the CoS and SOC codes are.

When She applied,she kept

visa type - TIER 2 (GENERAL SHORTAGE OCCUPATION) VISA
visa sub type - GENERAL SHORTAGE OCCUPATION PARTNER, UP TO 3 YEARS

In her COS it is written like below
Is the job on the current shortage occupation list?: Y

Now in her BRP "Type of Permit" is TIER 2 (GENERAL) LEAVE TO ENTER.

then you apply for the same as the dependent.
Option 1
reason for visit - Work
visa type - TIER 2 (GENERAL SHORTAGE OCCUPATION) VISA
visa sub type - GENERAL SHORTAGE OCCUPATION PARTNER, UP TO 3 YEARS

There is no sample or template letter. A letter is not required, the form asks for all the information that HO need.

Hi,

I am exactly in the same situation as you. Applying for a UK Tier 2 Visa using the priority service and have a court fine. I have included this on the application itself.

I was wondering if you ended up writing a cover letter as well? Did you submit all the other documents relating to the FPN as well?

I am urgently waiting for your reply as you can imagine how stressful this can be :(

Thanks,
Reet.
