Expediting a Tier 2 visa

Post by pred02 » Sun Jul 02, 2017 10:38 pm

Hi,

My friend got an offer for a Tier 2 and will receive the certificare of sponsorship around July 12th. She will need to fly back to Ottawa to apply for Tier 2. The challenge is to expedite the process as she needs to be back in Europe as soon as possible.

1. For Tier 2 applications, does an appointment need to be made in advance?
2. Is the COS required before booking the appointment or application?
3. Is it possible to fast track using an agency like VFS Global?

Thanks

1. Yes

2. Yes

3. Priority service but no guarantee it will be processed quicker even for the extra fee.

What is the value is using a service like VFS Global in this case versus going directly?

Thanks

As far as i am aware, all visa applicatiins are made through VFS and not directly with the embassy/high commission

Again, paying extra for priority does not guarantee a quick decision.

Thank you. If she gets the certificate of sponsorship on the 12th, how quickly can she get an appointment to submit the documentation? Is this something that the VFS global can expedite?

Thanks

She has to apply and pay online, including health surcharge. Booking appointment is part of this process. There is nothing that can be done to expedite. What is the rush anyway?

Needs passport back to be in Europe for a family wedding. I am still unclear:

1. From the point of getting the COS and going online to booking the appointment what is the lead time? Can VFS provide an appointment to submit documentation the same day?

2. I understand that VFS cannot impact the processing approval time frames (avg times are listed on the website itself) so what does the $250 expedite fee get you? I also cannot find a a way to get in touch with VFS and this information on the website is ambiguous.

Thanks
