Dependants applying from outside the UK

Post by Rahul_QUB » Thu Jul 06, 2017 11:38 pm

Hi all,

I got married on 3rd of June 2017 and as my current contract is expiring in Nov 2017, my wife applied standard visitor visa before our wedding. This visa was refused and they mentioned unless her personal circumstances changes, the decision will remain same. So, after wedding we applied for family visit visa based on our marriage certificate and it again got rejected even though we explained situation. After this background, I would like to ask

1) I am going to apply for my wife's dependant visa once I get next contract (in a month) and my visa extension, will there be any effect of previous refusals on the decision of dependant visa?

2) Do my wife need to prepare cover letter and explain why she applied for std. Visitor and family visitor visa and why they got rejected?

3) Under which category I can find documents required and fees to be paid (I always see fees to be paid is INR 124400 or 7650, which are for dependant of settled person or family visitor respectively).

Thank you very much for your time.

1. No effect.

2. No. HO have all her details anyway.

3. She will apply for a Tier 2 General partner (dependent) visa.

what was the reason for rejecting her visa the first two times?

Applying for dependent visa might not change anything if there's a strong reason for her previous refusals.

Thanks CR001 and Djsuccess. Reason for her visa denial was they were not confident that she will go back to India after her visit visa will expire and they thought ghe case is genuine. Hopefully these decisions should matter as in second refusal the clerical officer suggested for dependant visa.
