UK Spouse Visa - Relationship Issues

Post by Zaidius » Fri Jul 14, 2017 4:40 pm

Hi

I am a british citizen born and brought up in the UK. I met my wife in india in 2015, we got married at the end of 2016 and she arrived in the UK a few months ago on a two and a half year visa.

Before she arrived, I was under the impression she was in love with me and was ready to settle down. Unfortunately it has become apparent she has feeling for someone back in India and doesn't really want to be with me.

I need advice, in terms of what to do. I have managed to recently purchase a house with a large mortgage, I have read horror stories of husbands having to give up property and pay monthly alimony.

What would I need to do to in order to send her back to India without having any financial ramifications?, it's unfair that she has married me under a false pretense.

Thanks

You are obliged to inform HO that the marriage is no longer subsisting. The link below is the required form you need to complete. Her visa will be cancelled/curtailed. You will likely not be kept up to date of the process.

In terms of any financial obligations if you part ways, suggest speak to a solicitor as this is not part of the immigration process.

Obviously, she is free to leave the UK if she wants to be with someone else. Nothing stopping her from doing that.
